Scholars Visit 37 Schools
Scholar visits to Long Beach schools are the largest component of Smithsonian Week. Each day during the week of March 10 – 14, Smithsonian scholars conduct lectures and assemblies for students from elementary to university level. During Smithsonian Week 2008, thirty-seven schools will learn from seven Smithsonian scholars. Scholars will reach over 7,000 students and educators through school visits and direct interaction. The visits provide teachers and educators an opportunity to extend classroom learning.
